Daytime Excursions
Join us on Thursday or Friday (guests of conference attendees!) afternoon for a cologne-making workshop and visit to Eze-Village. We will take a public bus there, visit the Galimard perfume factory-museum, make our own cologne, and then have a quick tour of Eze before heading back to Nice. Sign up for this option when you register for the conference!
Nice is a city awash in pastels where olive and mimosa tree mountains literally fall into the sea. Spend a day strolling through it, and you will soon find yourself wanting to move here! Please see below for suggested walking tour. More ideas will be posted soon!
09:00-14:00 | Old Town | Walk from the conference hotel around the port, past the Monument aux Morts until you reach the Quai des Américains. Enter the Old Town under the arches and walk along the Cours Saleya and delight in its world-famous flower market. Stroll past the Opera and then make your way through the narrow, 1000 year-old streets of the Vieux-Nice. Visit the Palais Lascaris, a 17th century Baroque palace with frescoed ceilings, tapestries & antique musical instruments and the Cathédrale Sainte Réparate on the Place Rosetti. You've probably noticed countless restaurants? Stop at the Restaurant du Gésu or Lu Fran Calin for typical Niçois pizza and pasta dishes, but wait for dessert… |
14:00-16:30 | Ice Cream and the Château de la Colline | After lunch, stop at Fenocchio to try exotic ice cream flavors: thyme, tomato-basil, violet flower, or lavendar to name a few. Then make your way up the hill that sits behind the Old Town. At the top, you'll discover the ruins of the Château de Nice as well as ancient Roman and Greek ruins of a cathedral. Bring your camera for 360° panoramic views of the Promenade des Anglais, the Port, and the mountains behind Nice. |
16:30-17:30 | Cemetery and Antique Dealers of the Port | Walk past the cemetery and take a peak to see some beautiful sculptures and more impressive views overlooking the old town. Then make your way down from the Château hill on the Eastern side, so that you end up in the antique dealers neighborhood of the port. Stop in any one of the bars or restaurants along the port for a refreshment, then continue on until you reach the conference hotel. |
