There are two default filters for Word:
To add a Word filter:
Follow steps 1-3 from Adding_new_file_filters.
Select Format Type as Default
Word Filter.
The Word Filter options appear.
Enable the following options, if required:

To add a Word 2007 filter:
Follow steps 1-3 from Adding_new_file_filters.
Select Format Type as Default
Word 2007 Filter.
The Word Filter options appear.
Enable the following options, if required:
