Import a Local Glossary

To exchange glossaries with other translators, save the exported glossary to a local drive, then use the Import Glossary action to import it to your project.

  Note:

To exchange glossaries among projects on your local drive, use the Add Project Glossaries action.

To import a local glossary:

  1. On the Projects tab, double-click a project from the projects list.
  2. On the Project Terminology tab, click Import Glossary.
  3. On the Import Glossary dialog, select the import File Type from the drop-down list.
    • Term Base eXchange (TBX) — Use with other CAT tool glossaries

    • Tab delimited text file (TXT) — Use with Wordfast Classic and Wordfast Pro glossaries

  4. Click Browse to locate and select the Import File, and then click Open.
  5. (Optional) Select Create a new glossary if you do not want to add the imported terms to an existing glossary.
  6. (Optional) Select Import into existing glossary if you want to add the imported terms to an existing glossary.
  7. Select an Existing Glossary from the drop-down list.
  8. Select an option for handling preexisting terms from the If the term already exists drop-down list.
  9. Select Clear before import to overwrite the entire existing glossary.
  10. Click OK.

    The glossary is imported and is displayed in the project Glossaries list.
