Import a Local TM

To use a local translation memory (TM) from another linguist, use the Import TM action.

To import a local TM:

  1. On the Projects tab, double-click a project from the projects list to open it.
  2. Click Import TM on the Project TM tab.
  3. On the Import Translation Memory dialog, select the import File Type from the drop-down list.
      Note:

    Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

    • WF Classic TM—File format provides backward compatibility for Wordfast Classic and Wordfast Pro 3.

    • TMX—Translation Memory eXchange file format provides compatibility with all translation tools.

    Import File

    Identifies the file for import.

    Create New TM

    Imports the TM into a new TM file.

    Import into Existing TM

    Imports the TM into an available TM file, based on selection from the drop-down list.

    Existing TM

    Selects an available TM file, based on selection from the drop-down list.

    If TU already exists

    Imports the TM into an available TM file, based on selection from the drop-down list.

    Clear before import

    Deletes the existing TM and replaces it with the new TM.
  4. Click OK.

    The translation memory is imported and is displayed in the Project TM list.
